Meet the neighbours: arevery – Purpose led concept store - coffee, goods, wine

Krish and Joey, thank you so much for having me. This place is gorgeous, the aesthetics are spot on. how do you pronounce it?
So the name is arevery which is from the French word 'reverie' which is daydream. It was very out of the box thinking of something a bit different.
How would you describe what you have here, as its not just a coffee shop is it?
No. We have tried to bring a peaceful refuge to the neighbourhood. So the idea is that you come into the space and you can take your time and relax with some of those sort of slow rituals to your life. So with everything we've done here it's all very sort of consciously thought and deliberate to try and make sure we take our time and enjoy the space and almost take a break from life.
How have you found being part of The Tooting community?
It's so wonderful,. We have had people along with us for the journey from the start but since we did the coffee a couple of years ago, we have really g t to meet the neighbours and the customers. You really see people come along on their journeys as well.. So we have had 2 very sweet couples who have actually got engaged in the spring. We have a wine bar you can hire, so its a private space.
What would you like people to know that maybe they don't?
Its about walking in and feeling the space, being able to relax here, for people to look around. We have some lovely products from independent creators, One of the things we wanted to do when we first started was do something that had a meaningful impact, so it gave us meaning. We donate 30p from every coffee sold to the local food bank, Tooting Community Kitchen, so that goes from every coffee drink. All of our suppliers that we work with, we make sure their ethos is aligned with ours. So every coffee is by Skylark which is a 100% not for profit roastery, so they donate all their profits back into the coffee trade, back to the farmers. We have wine makers who are completely independent, so you can trace it back to source which is really lovely.
What is your favourite product?
That's like picking your favourite child. We have such a range, but personally I love we have got avevery branded caps which are very cool.. Great quality material, the design is very nice
what is your favourite aspect that you do?
We had a couple in the wine bar recently say that they feel lucky to be in an area in London where we have something like this. I love that, and it makes it all worthwhile.
what about future plans?
We are excited to bring our products online. We also want to be more deliberate with our events and workshops that we are running. So are moving the wine bar to a monthly avevery Lates, which is the last Thursday of every month. Occasional workshops like journaling or vision boarding, and wellness themed.
